Through Inside Magritte, the audience is able to face, in an unprecedented way, the surreal universe unleashed by the painting of the father of Belgian Surrealism. Inside the immersive room, as in his works, the images of René Magritte’s painting undermine our certain, customary views of the world.
Inside Magritte takes visitors through an immersive experience, highlighting all of the snares of common language and of pictorial illusion. Visiting the show will allow the audience to experience a seamless space: from the walls to the floor, Magritte’s works will come to life in a unique flow of dream and symbols.
Curated by art historian Julie Waseige, under the aegis of the Succession Magritte in Brussels, the immersive event is a clear example of how the rigour of critical discourse may encounter the expressive potential of digital language.
